In 1990 Peter J. Moran worked as a freelance designer for a small direct-mail firm, and in his first season in the political arena earned the coveted Pollie for "most influential piece of mail in the country." It would prove to be no fluke. That firm was Winning Directions, and since his permanent return to the organization in 2000 and more than 50 Pollies later Peter has been instrumental in the company's emergence as the premier strategic communications firm in the country. For the 2004 season alone, as Senior Art Director, he was responsible for the design and development of more than 2,000 communications, which reached nearly 65 million mailboxes and maintained a standard of excellence that garnered the company 22 Pollies that year. Peter grew up in the hardworking steel town of Pittsburgh, PA, and earned art scholarships to the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University. He completed his studies in fine arts, graphic design and architecture at Kent State University in Ohio. His career history is rich with success in developing communications and persuasion. Prior to rejoining Winning Directions in 2000, Peter developed marketing materials for Netscape, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and many other California high-tech firms; advertising materials for motor sports associations such as the American Motorcycle Association, IMSA and NASCAR; retail catalogs for Macy's California, Victoria's Secret and Sharper Image; and posters, prints, calendars and greeting cards for American Greetings and Portal Publications. As COO, Peter oversees the finest staff of political strategists, account executives, finance, accounting, design, production and IT experts in the country all focused on providing Winning Directions' clients with communications that reach the right people, with the right message, at the right time.
