Mr. Tabilio served as a strategic consultant with Winning Directions from 1996 through the 2004 election cycle. In that capacity, he developed messaging and copy for the company's direct mail programs on behalf of such clients as the national AFL-CIO; the National Education Association (NEA); America Coming Together (ACT); the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF); the Human Rights Campaign (HRC); the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO; the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW); the Service Employees International Union (SEIU); and the California Teachers Association (CTA), as well as political candidates and elected officials throughout the United States. Prior to joining WD full time in late 2005, Tabilio was an independent political consultant for more than 25 years. In that capacity, he wrote more than 2,000 pieces of direct mail and scores of radio and television spots for more than 150 campaigns throughout the United States. His clients included national campaigns as well as candidates and ballot measures in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana, Louisiana, Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Virginia, Minnesota, Kentucky and Florida. Tabilio's corporate political clients have included major companies such as Apple Computers, the Walt Disney Company, General Dynamics Corporation, FMC, Time/Warner, AT&T and Perot Systems. During a brief stint as a joke writer for "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno in the early 1990s, Tabilio sold and optioned a number of film and television scripts, including the produced feature "Sweet Justice." He has also been retained as a "script doctor" on numerous television and feature film scripts.
